Juan graduated from the University of Malta in 2011 with a BSc (Hons) in Biology and Chemistry. In 2013, he obtained an MSc in Biology. Juan is a senior lecturer at the Institute of Applied Sciences at MCAST and delivers units related with understanding the anthropogenic activities on the natural environment.
A recurring topic in his research endeavours. Juan is currently leading IMPACT (Identifying Microplastic Hotspots in the Maltese Waters, GA: PRD002), a project which aims to identify microplastic hotspots around the Maltese islands through a collaborative approach.
